When
God spoke with Moses, he was told:
Indeed, [I] I Am
Allah. (There is) no god but I, so
worship Me and establish the prayer for My remembrance.
Indeed, the Hour
(will be) coming. I almost [I] hide it that may be recompensed every NAFS for what it strives.
Our NAFS &
God-consciousness
The
Quran extensively discusses the covenant and its ratification. Surah alHashr
discusses the exile of some People of the Book, who disbelieved and
consequently opposed Allah and His Messenger. The surah goes on to warn the
believers:
O you who believe! Fear Allah and let look every NAFS what it has sent forth for
tomorrow, and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah (is) All-Aware of what you
do.
And (do) not be like those who
forgot Allah, so He made them forget their NAFS. Those [they] (are) the
defiantly disobedient.
Not equal (are the)
companions (of) the Fire and (the) companions (of) Paradise. (The) companions
(of) Paradise they (are) the achievers.
[Al-Quran 59:18-20]
