Allah chooses from men for public roles

...

And not We sent before you, but men We revealed to them from (among) (the) people (of) the townships. So have not they traveled in the earth and seen how was (the) end (of) those who (were) before them? And surely the home (of) the Hereafter (is) best for those who fear Allah. Then will not you use reason?

[Al-Quran 12:109]

And not We sent before you except men, We revealed to them, so ask (the) people (of) the Reminder if you (do) not know. With the clear proofs and the Books. And We sent down to you the Remembrance, that you may make clear to the mankind, what has been sent down to them and that they may reflect.

[Al-Quran 16:43-44]

Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى‎ chooses from and sends men on public tasks. Be it being the qawam (Q4:34) of their women, or the khalifa (Q2:30, Q38:26) of the Earth, all public tasks have been assigned to men. Adam عليه السلام was a man, and all the prophets and messengers, who were all from his descendants, were all men. Prophet Muhammad  ﷺ  was the seal of the prophets, and so he was not granted any adult male offspring (Q33:40). Men are assigned the task of establishing prayers in mosques (Q24:36-38), and it is who men who are under a covenant, and the believing men keep their covenant and go to battle (Q33:23) to fight oppression and establish Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى 's Deen.

Even the angels, serving Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى , are males:

Or has He taken, out of what He has created, daughters and chosen you for [having] sons?

And when one of them is given good tidings of that which he attributes to the Most Merciful in comparison [i.e., a daughter], his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.

So is one brought up in ornaments while being during conflict unevident1 [attributed to Allāh]?

And they described the angels, who are servants of the Most Merciful, as females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned.

[Al-Quran 43:16-19]

...

So have you considered al-Lāt and al-ʿUzzā?

And Manāt, the third - the other one?

Is the male for you and for Him the female?

That, then, is an unjust division.

They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allāh has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance.

[Al-Quran 53:19-23]

...

Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter name the angels female names,

And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all.

[Al-Quran 53:27-28]

Mary (Maryam عليها السلام) was dedicated by her mother for Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى‎ 's service when she was in the womb, and the mother didn't know that she was going to bear a female child. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى‎ graciously accepted the dedicated child (Q3:37), chose her above all women of all the worlds (Q3:42), and made her the mother of the Messiah Isa عليه السلام .

Even when infant Jesus (Isa عليه السلام) was brought by his mother Mary (Maryam عليها السلام) in front of the people, she was not asked to speak, rather the male infant spoke and explained himself, as quoted in Surah Maryam:

Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented.

O sister [i.e., descendant] of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste."

So she pointed to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?"

[Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allāh. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.

And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakāh as long as I remain alive And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant. And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive." That is Jesus, the son of Mary - the word of truth about which they are in dispute. It is not [befitting] for Allāh to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, "Be," and it is. [Jesus said], "And indeed, Allāh is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path."

[Al-Quran 19:27-36]

Mary (Maryam عليها السلام), mother of Jesus (Messiah Isa عليه السلام), is the only woman mentioned by name in The Quran. Even the names of all other women been kept away from the public domain, regardless of their piety or otherwise. They are simply referred to by their husband or father's names.

Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى has created men and women for specialised roles. Each has been granted qualities and abilities suited to their roles. We have all been created to serve Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى , and each one has a role to play. We can best serve Him by submitting to His rules and regulations, and staying within the boundaries and limits He has set for us.

Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى has neither forbidden nor encouraged public roles for women. He knows that not all men will be pious enough to shoulder their responsibilities, and some women will need to step out of their homes to make ends meet. We should try our best to avoid public roles for women, as far as possible, to maintain the ideal social system created by Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى .

Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى knows best.

Jesus - among those near God

In response to a question about evidence regarding Jesus' death in the Quran:

Based on what I've understood of the Quran, I believe that Jesus [Essa Ibn e Mariam] was raised alive and brought near to Allah.

Surah Al-Waqiah mentions three categories of people, among which the foremost in faith will be those brought near [أُولَٰئِكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ]. Interestingly, in the Quran, the only human being mentioned by name as among those brought near is Jesus:
إِذْ قَالَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ يَا مَرْيَمُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنْهُ اسْمُهُ الْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَجِيهًا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ
When said the Angels, "O Maryam! Indeed, Allah gives you glad tidings of a word from Him, his name (is) the Messiah, Isa, son (of) Maryam, honored in the world and (in) the Hereafter, and of those brought near (to Allah).

In Surah Nisa, the angels and Jesus are mentioned as those worshipping Allah:
لَّن يَسْتَنكِفَ الْمَسِيحُ أَن يَكُونَ عَبْدًا لِّلَّهِ وَلَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ وَمَن يَسْتَنكِفْ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ وَيَسْتَكْبِرْ فَسَيَحْشُرُهُمْ إِلَيْهِ جَمِيعًا
[Literal (word-by-word)] Never will disdain the Messiah to be a slave of Allah and not the Angels, the ones who are near (to Allah). And whoever disdains from His worship and is arrogant then He will gather them towards Him all together.
[Shakir] The Messiah does by no means disdain that he should be a servant of Allah, nor do the angels who are near to Him, and whoever disdains His service and is proud, He will gather them all together to Himself.
[Yusuf Ali] Christ disdaineth nor to serve and worship God, nor do the angels, those nearest (to God): those who disdain His worship and are arrogant,-He will gather them all together unto Himself to (answer).

Interestingly, in Arabic grammar, present and future tense are both represented by the same verb. And so, the above verse can be understood as either in the present tense or the future tense. I understand it in the present tense.

The Living Matrix

Explaining the concept of the Living Matrix and why Creation must not be tinkered with, in response to an objection to concepts used to understand Virgin Birth and a related discussion about the return of Jesus:
SA wrote: Adam elahy salaam and his wife were born without any living matrix or water memory. Would you make them come back twice then?
alQuraan does not mention any return of anyone at all. Death is a point of no return and nobody can evade it. Stop wasting time in mythology and start following alQuraan.

My response:
Do not see those who disbelieved that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, then We parted them and We made from [the] water every living thing? Then will not they believe?

All living things are made from water. Every living thing is a living matrix! To get an idea of the living matrix concept, please search online or read page 8 onwards of this rather simple article:  http://www.energeticfitness.com/Support%20Files/Some%20Biophysical%20Bases%20for%20the%20Human%20Energy%20System.pdf

It is important to realise the wondrous nature of creation and to understand that tinkering with the software of creation can only corrupt it. We are in an age where advances in genetic engineering are bringing us a variety of treatment options. It is one thing to interact with the software as an end-user, like you use your computer, and its entirely another thing to make changes in the source code. Changes in the source code can either improve it or corrupt it. As Allah has created the software of life, any changes in the source code can only corrupt it! Hence the directive in Q30:30 and again in Q30:43
So set your face to the religion upright. Nature (made by) Allah (upon) which He has created mankind [on it]. No change (should there be) in the creation (of) Allah. That (is) the religion the correct, but most men (do) not know.

So set your face to the religion right, before [that] comes a Day not (can be) averted [it] from Allah. That Day, they will be divided.

The Quran is a living document, seriously relevant to our time! We need to heed to the guidance lest we inflict 'zulm' upon ourselves. The narrations of warnings given to people long ago are relevant to us again. We need to understand each and every warning, so that we are guided aright!

Second Coming of Jesus

IS wrote: ... many a Muslims believe that hazrat Eisa ,asw, will come in the ummat of prophet Muhammad, pbuh, as a prophet and sahih Muslims declares him as the nabiullah in his second coming, but Quran declares him as the prophet unto Bani Israel. So in these cases quran has to be taken as correct and ahadeeth needs to be interpreted according to the Quranic teachings or rejected.

My Response: At least two verses of the Quran indicate the second coming of Jesus:
In Surah Zukhruf verse 59 states:
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا عَبْدٌ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلْنَاهُ مَثَلًا لِّبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ
Not he (was) except a slave, We bestowed Our favor on him and We made him an example for (the) Children of Israel.

and verse 62 goes on to state:
وَإِنَّهُ لَعِلْمٌ لِّلسَّاعَةِ فَلَا تَمْتَرُنَّ بِهَا وَاتَّبِعُونِ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ
variously translated as: http://islamawakened.com/quran/43/61/

In Surah Nisaa, verses 157-159 state:
And for their saying, "Indeed, we killed the Messiah, Isa, son (of) Maryam, (the) Messenger (of) Allah." And not they killed him and not they crucified him but it was made to appear (so) to them. And indeed, those who differ in it (are) surely in doubt about it. Not for them about it [of] (any) knowledge except (the) following (of) assumption. And not they killed him, certainly. Nay, Allah raised him towards Him. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. And (there is) not from (the) People (of) the Book but surely he believes in him before his death. And (on the) Day (of) the Resurrection he will be against them a witness.

SA wrote: You have misundertsood these ayaatulQuraan and ignored clear ayaat against this Christian misbelief of the second coming of Esa elahy salaam and Jews misbelief of the second coming of the Messiah. Just because of the efforts of Bukahri and other liars.

Before I show you other ayaatulQuraan against your misbelief, let me ask a question based on your quote
And (there is) not from (the) People (of) the Book but surely he believes in him before his death. unquote
Can you please elaborate what do you intend from this. And where in those ayaat do you find the 'second coming:?

My Response:
For every news (is) a fixed time, and soon you will know.

As I continue to study the Mission of the Messengers mentioned in the Quran, World History according to the Quran and its Future Implications, I'm getting more and more convinced that the Quran is pointing to a major battle in the Middle East (Q6:92, Q28:59, Q42:7, Q48:16) between the believers and the followers of baatil after the appearance of the Creature from the Earth (Q27:82). I take People of the Book in that future context to include all believers including the ummat of Prophet Mohammad. Hence I take 43:62 to indicate Jesus' return before the Hour.

Q3:33 lists in sequence the chosen ones, and informs us that Allah has chosen the Family of Imran. Mohammad was from the lineage of Abraham, and Jesus is the maternal grandson of Imran, and of Imran's lineage due to Jesus not having a father.

Quran 4:157 is quite clear that they neither killed nor crucified Jesus.

As far as hadith and other sources are concerned, I have not studied them. Being a born Muslim, I have heard of these expectations of 'end-of-time' events since childhood. However, only recently, after I've begin to understand some of the messages of the Quran, I'm getting more and more convinced that the expected future battle between good and evil is going to take place, and eventually the believers will emerge victorious, and evil will finally be contained permanently!

And verily We sent Musa with Our Signs, that "Bring out your people from the darkness[es] to the light. And remind them of the days (of) Allah." Indeed, in that surely (are) the signs for everyone patient and thankful.

Which verse of the Quran clearly states that Jesus will not return?

SA responded: You have spun quite a web in your mind and thoughts. May ALLAH save you from yourself. Qayamat is described as an uncalculateable and a sudden event. Yes, the appearance of the talking creature to happen before it but are we sure that it is not happening as we are writing or reading these lines? What if Qayamat occurs before I get to finsih this message? Is it a possibility or not? 43:63, not 62, does not indicate the return of Esa elahy salaam. Have a look at 2:87 and 2:253.
Now for one second, let us presume that Esa elahy salaam comes back before Qayamat and do all that you guys want him to do for you. But when he comes back, will he not know what Christians are calling him and his mother? Will he not know that in the name of holy trinity they have declared them gods and God's child? Yes, he will learn all that happened after his ascension and that is clearly against alQuraan. See Suratul Maidah ayaat 116-119.
Wussalaam.

My Response:
And indeed, came to you Yusuf before with clear proofs, but not you ceased in doubt about what he brought to you [with it], until when he died, you said, "Never will Allah raise after him a Messenger." Thus, Allah lets go astray who [he] (is) a transgressor, a doubter."

And verily, We have written in the Scripture after the mention, that the earth - will inherit it My slaves, the righteous.

Please consider the above verses also.

Q43:61 is the number of the verse I cited, and not 62. Thanks for pointing out the mistake.

Jesus & The Family of Imran

On the assertion of Agakhanis that their Imam is from the lineage of Ali, son of Imran, which they claim is mentioned in the Quran, quoting the following verses:

[Quran 3:33,34] Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Nuh, and (the) family (of) Ibrahim and (the) family (of) Imran over the worlds. Descendents, some of them from others. And Allah (is) All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

My Understanding: And Maryam, (the) daughter (of) Imran who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into it of Our Spirit. And she believed (in the) Words (of) her Lord and His Books, and she was of the devoutly obedient.
[
http://www.islamawakened.com/quran/66/12/default.htm ]

..., I sent the link to my blogpost titled Virgin Birth, where I try to comprehend the science behind the miracle and explain why Jesus is from the family of Imran:
Quran 3:33-62 and 19:16-37 relate the details of Mary, Jesus’ conception and birth, and his mission:
[Quran 3:33 Translation: Literal] Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Nuh, and (the) family (of) Ibrahim and (the) family (of) Imran over the worlds.

Lineage is generally determined by the father/sperm. In the case of Jesus, had there been a father of Jesus, then Jesus’ lineage would be from the family of his father, and not of his mother Mary, daughter of Imran. For Jesus to be from the family of Imran, all his chromosomes must have come from his mother.

...According to Quran 4:156-159, Jesus was neither killed nor crucified. ... We believe he is still alive and will return to complete his mission. Hence, the family of Imran, grandfather of Jesus, is still the chosen family.

Pope

Continuation of the discussion on Real vs Pretender and Jesus Christ, J asks: would you call the luxurious life of the Pope of Rome - his successor(?) - a proof for false messages?

Answer: We believe the basic teachings of the Paul and his successors are against the letter and spirit of the teachings of Jesus. Jesus came to confirm the Law and to explain its wisdom, so that it is upheld with the correct spirit, and not in a half-hearted manner. Jesus taught Monotheism and to keep duty whole-heartedly. Yet, Paul did away with the Law and started Jesus-worship. Have you visited the Vatican? Its full of symbols of polytheism, particularly of ancient Egypt, including the Obelisk right in the middle of St. Peter's Square. Consider the following two verses from the Bible:

http://biblehub.com/exodus/20-4.htm New International Version
"You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
http://biblehub.com/matthew/5-17.htm New International Version
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
Will Jesus allow St. Paul to enter the Kingdom of Heaven: http://can-you-answer.com/CanChristiansAnswer/canChrisAns.htm

Jesus Christ

As a continuation of the Real vs Pretender, J wrote: I would have liked to 'see' that ALL false messengers DO require worldly benefits - some may not. Jesus Christ did not -

Answer: We believe that Jesus was a true Messenger of God.

And We did certainly give Moses the Torah and followed up after him with messengers. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit. But is it [not] that every time a messenger came to you, [O Children of Israel], with what your souls did not desire, you were arrogant? And a party [of messengers] you denied and another party you killed.

http://quran.com/2/136 Sahih International
Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."

http://quran.com/2/253 Sahih International
Those messengers - some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom Allah spoke, and He raised some of them in degree. And We gave Jesus, the Son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him with the Pure Spirit. If Allah had willed, those [generations] succeeding them would not have fought each other after the clear proofs had come to them. But they differed, and some of them believed and some of them disbelieved. And if Allah had willed, they would not have fought each other, but Allah does what He intends.

http://quran.com/3/45 Sahih International
[And mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah ].

http://quran.com/3/59 Sahih International
Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was.

http://quran.com/4/157 Sahih International
And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah ." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.

Islam and Christianity: parallel religions or continuation of the same message?

Comment1: The big difference is that Christ voluntarily DIED for us all, believers and nonbelievers alike. That's love to the ultimate degree. Allah never did that, nor Mohammed.
Comment2: Since Islam honors the old and new testaments as sacred works of divine revelation, and since they believe God is God, then Allah did do that and Christ died for us all in their view also. Redundancy is not desirable.
Comment3: So Islam seems to be a parallel or alternate track to the Bible, not an "improvement" on Christianity.
My Response: Allah means The Deity, and therefore God.
We believe that all religions originate from the same source and thus are common in their essence. Each successive prophet came to proclaim, preach and purify the message, restoring it to its pristine glory. Prophet Muhammad also came with the same message of unity of God, of love and compassion, of patience and perseverance, explaining the temporal and eternal, the reality of this life and the undeniability of the hereafter, the responsibility of each for his/her own beliefs and deeds.
We believe that Jesus was never crucified, neither do we believe in doctrine of original sin. The understanding we get from the Quran is quite different.

Jesus

In response to a blog about Early Christianity:
Well, quite a bit of what you write is close to our understanding, but there are certain fundamental differences.
  • We Muslims believe that Jesus was a born messenger and prophet, that is, he started speaking God's message(in defense of his pious and innocent mother) right from the cradle, while the people were accusing her of how she bore a child though not married.
  • We believe that God sent Jesus to the Jews (Bani Israel) to guide them, to teach them the wisdom of the Torah, to confirm the Laws and explain how it was in their best interests.
  • We believe that Jesus was able to heal the lepers, restore sight to the blind, and perform other miracles with God's help and permission.
  • We believe that even though they tried to crucify Jesus, God miraclously saved him, and another person was made to resemble him, who was crucified instead.
  • We believe that God raised Jesus to Heaven.
  • We do not think that Paul had any right to do away with the laws, as it is against the teachings of Jesus.
  • We do not hold Jesus to be divine, he is a revered Prophet and Messenger, a highly respected human being.
  • We believe that all messengers and prophets brought to mankind the same message from the same original divine source.
Reason why we think Jesus was replaced with a body-double at the Crucifixion:
Firstly these verses:

4:157 And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.

3:54 And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers.

3:55 (And remember) when Allah said: O Jesus! Lo! I am gathering thee and causing thee to ascend unto Me, and am cleansing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me ye will (all) return, and I shall judge between you as to that wherein ye used to differ.
www.searchtruth.com

Then, according to The Gospel of Barnabas, towards the end of the book, section 216 reads as follows:"Judas entered impetuously before all into the chamber whence Jesus had been taken up. And the disciples were sleeping. Whereupon the wonderful God acted wonderfully, insomuch that Judas was so changed in speech and in face to be like Jesus that we believed him to be Jesus. And he, having awakened us was seeking where the Master was. Whereupon we marvelled, and answered: 'Thou, Lord, art our master; hast thou now forgotten us?' And he, smiling, said: 'Now are ye foolish, that know not me to be Judas Iscariot! And as he was saying this the soldiery entered, and laid their hands upon Judas, becase he was in every way like Jesus. We having heard Judas' saying, and seeing the multitude of soldiers, fled as beside ourselves....... "

As you know, we take the arabic Quran to be the 'word of God'... thus we evaluate all other texts in the light of what it says in the Holy Quran... if it is in accordance, then it can be a plausible explanation. Therefore, as you can see in the verse (Quran 4:157), God clearly says that Jesus was not crucified; so when we read this account in the Gospel of Barnabas, we find it a closer explanation to our beliefs.I know that the Gospel of Barnabas is not included in the Biblical canon, and therefore, probably not acceptable to most Christians. As far as researching and getting to 'the truth of the matter' is concerned, I doubt if any text can actually provide any conclusive proof about any historical event... in the end it boils down to faith... believing in a certain text to be absolutely true, and taking it as it is.I have mentioned in earlier posts why and how I'm convinced of the absolute authenticity of the Quran. Thus, for me, it is very easy to accept whatever Allah says about any event. That is the source and the reason for my belief that Jesus was not crucified.

Common Word between People of the Book

I quoted this verse in a forum, which generated the following exchange:
Holy Quran 3:64 Say: "O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah. that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah." If then they turn back, say ye: "Bear witness that we (atleast) are Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will) ."

Question: "O People of the Book! Come to the common Word (Kalimah) between you and us." (Quran 3:64)
"Behold! The angels said: "O Mary! Allah gives you glad tiding of His Word(Kalimah). His name will be Jesus son of Mary, the Messiah, held in honor in this world and the hereafter and one of those nearest to Allah." (Quran3:45)
Is there any relationship between the two verses above? Can we say theKalimah (The Holy Quran or Jesus Christ) is the instrument and the means with which the One has revealed Himself to all of us? Can someone believe in the Oneness of Allah, yet deny his Word?

Answer: As you know, Arabic is a complex language where the same word can mean differently in different contexts, especially when one attempts to translate it in another language. The verse I quoted (3:64), uses the word kalimah. Now what R is referring to (3:45) is another use of the same word, and is trying to draw some sort of parallel. But the fact is that throughout theQuran, Allah has repeatedly told us that:

  • When He wills something, He just says Be and it becomes (that is all is needed is just a word or Divine Will).
  • Allah willed Jesus without a father, and thus he was conceived and born, and that his creation is similar to the creation of Adam. Adam was without parents, Jesus was without father.
  • We are reminded that Jesus was a messenger, he came to confirm that which was already with the Jews, that is The Torah, he reconfirmed the Laws and taught their wisdom to his people(I think there is a verse in the Bible to that effect, where Jesus is reported to have said that he has come to confirm the law, not to do away with it).
  • Prophet Muhammad was sent as the final messenger to mankind. He came to reconfirm the message brought by all the prophets who preceded him. As the original message was from the same creator, thus the same, he was sent to remove all the man-made changes, and restore it to its pristine beauty.
  • Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad as the guidance for mankind and preserved by Allah such that no alphabet or word has been changed since it was revealed.
  • 3:64 is self explanatory as the common word/terms are defined in detail
Holy Quran 3:64 Say: "O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah. that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah." If then they turn back, say ye: "Bear witness that we (atleast) are Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will) ."
  • As Muslims, we are required to associate NO partners with Allah, thus even though we have a very high regard for Jesus and his mission, believing that he was a human is an article of faith, since we believe that the Holy Quran is the unadulterated, untampered word of Allah, and we cannot pick and choose what we believe in.
  • Furthermore, in the Quran, Allah tells us that there is no confusion/doubt in it. Thus, if we are not sure about the correct interpretation of some verse/word, we put together the various verses throughout the Quran to get the larger picture, and then it usually is self-explanatory
Some verses about Jesus:
  • 2:87 And verily We gave unto Moses the Scripture and We caused a train of messengers to follow after him, and We gave unto Jesus, son of Mary, clear proofs (of Allah's sovereignty), and We supported him with the Holy spirit. Is it ever so, that, when there cometh unto you a messenger (from Allah) with that which ye yourselves desire not, ye grow arrogant, and some ye disbelieve andsome ye slay?
  • 2:136 Say (O Muslims): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received, and that which the prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and untoHim we have surrendered.
  • 2:253 Of those messengers, some of whom We have caused to excel others, and of whom there are some unto whom Allah spake, while some of them He exalted (above others) in degree; and We gave Jesus, son of Mary, clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) and We supported him with the holy Spirit. And if Allah had sowiled it, those who followed after them would not have fought one with anotherafter the clear proofs had come unto them. But they differed, some of them believing and some disbelieving. And if Allah had so willed it, they would not have fought one with another; but Allah doeth what He will.
  • 3:45 (And remember) when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a word from him, whose name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, illustrious in the world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near (unto Allah).
  • 3:59 Lo! the likeness of Jesus with Allah is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust, then He said unto him: Be! and he is.
  • 4:171 O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three" - Cease!(it is) better for you! - Allah is only One Allah. Far is it removed from HisTranscendent Majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in theheavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.
  • 5:46 And We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow in their footsteps, confirming that which was (revealed) before him in the Torah, and We bestowed on him theGospel wherein is guidance and a light, confirming that which was (revealed)before it in the Torah - a guidance and an admonition unto those who ward off(evil).
  • 5:116 And when Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Didst thou say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah? he saith: Be glorified! It was not mine to utter that to which I had no right. If I used to say it, then Thou knewest it. Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I know not what is in Thy Mind. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower of Things Hidden
  • 61:6 And when Jesus son of Mary said: O Children of Israel! Lo! I am the messenger of Allah unto you, confirming that which was (revealed) before me in the Torah, and bringing good tidings of a messenger who cometh after me, whose name is the Praised One. Yet when he hath come unto them with clear proofs, they say: This is mere magic.

Isa is not a Hebrew name

Question: Y'Shua (Jesus) was a Hebrew, he was not and will never be anything other than a Hebrew. The name Isa is not a Hebrew name.

Answer: Ch3:45 [When the angels said: "O Mary, God gives you news of a thing from Him, for rejoicing, (news of one) whose name will be Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, illustrious in this world and the next, and one among the honoured,] (Translation by Ahmed Ali). Isa/Jesus may not be a Hebrew name; in this verse Allah tells us that He Himself named the child.

Why is Y'Shua worshipped?

Question: …. Can you say that God himself could not do this? He can do anything! The healing miracles that Y'Shua did were they not the same as Eliyahu (Elija)? But Elija is not worshiped today. Why is that? Enoch was raised to heaven why is he not worshiped? Y'Shua must be different then in some way.....

Answer: God can do anything. He is All-Powerful, All-Encompassing. He gave a miraculous conception, He let Jesus speak from the cradle, with His permission, Jesus was able to perform a lot of miracles. But, He has also given free will to humans, if some or many or even all choose to worship Jesus instead of God, God will not force any to revert to Monotheism….. remember this is a place of trial, we have been given Books containing guidance, Prophets warning us, a Conscience telling us what is right and what just cannot be right, and the Free Will to choose our own destiny, the destiny for eternity!

Story of Jesus

Question: Can anybody explain how was Mary/Maryam mother of Jesus/Isa a.s become pregnant??how long is the period of her pregnancy till she gave birth to her child Isa ibn Maryam??How about if we compare this story or we can say a history to this day when we heard a virgin woman become pregnant because of an angel sent by Allah to her n then she gave birth to a child?? would our next generations have faith to the story??

Answer: According to the Holy Quran, --- Chapter 3 Verse 59: "Verily the likeness of Isa, with Allah is as the likeness of Adam; him He created out of dust, thereafter He said unto him: Be, and lo! he becometh"Just like Allah created Adam without parents, so Allah created Jesus(Isa) without a father. Faith in a story depends on faith in the truthfulness of the source. If somebody believes Allah to be the true creator, Muhammad to be the appointed messenger, and the Holy Quran to be the word of Allah revealed to Muhammad for the guidance of mankind, then that person will have no problem believing the story of Jesus’ miraculous birth. You can read what Allah has to say regarding this in Chapter 3, Verses 35-62 This link will show you comparative translations of the original Arabic text: http://www.searchtruth.com/chapter_display_all.php?chapter=3&from_verse=35&to_verse=62&mac=&translation_setting=1&show_yusufali=1&show_shakir=1&show_pickthal=1

Are God of the Old Testament and New Testament same?

Question: If the god of the old and new testament are one god, he has changed drastically. Perhaps he learned from the trials of Job or from the near sacrifice of Isaac, perhaps he awakened to a new truth. I don't know. I only know that the new God knows Love. The new God IS Love.

Answer: To Moses was revealed the Torah, which contained the Laws. With the passage of time, though prophets kept coming from time to time, yet the followers of Torah forgot the wisdom behind the Laws, and the Law became blind…… the compassion, the love, the mercy, and the wisdom was lost on most….. people who followed became rigid and closed their minds, their religion was difficult and harsh, and it seemed okay to them. Then God sent Jesus to re-teach the Torah, to let the people know the immense love and compassion that God has for His creatures. But the followers of Jesus concentrated so much on the love and compassion part, that they forgot that he had come to confirm the Law, not to do away with it…….. that he had come to explain why it was important and beneficial for humans, but, unfortunately, we have two religions while both study the Old Testament.

Jews and Jesus

Q: Logical mistakes in thinking (according to the Quran, verse 4.157, the Jews say that Jesus is the Messiah and a Prophet of Allah, which they never did)”

A: In this particular verse, the Jews are boasting that they have killed Jesus, and as such mockingly saying that they have slain Christ, the messenger of Allah, not out of belief, but sarcastically. Allah has simply quoted them.

The original injeel

Q: When the word "Injeel (Gospel)" was used in the Quran, is it referring to the four gospels of the Christians? If yes, why is it stated in the 3rd Sunnah: "48. And He (Allâh) will teach him ['Iesa (Jesus)]the Book and Al-Hikmah (i.e. the Sunnah, the faultless speech of the Prophets, wisdom, etc.), (and) the Taurât(Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)." when the gospels came to be written after the lifetime of Jesus? If no. Do have a copy of that Injeel?

A: First of all, it is not the 3rd Sunnah. You are referring to Chapter 3 Verse 48 of the Holy Quran. What Allah is saying here is that He will teach Jesus the message of theTaurat (the Book that was revealed to Prophet Moses), and reveal the Injeel to Prophet Jesus. That what we have today as the New Testament is a collection of the Gospels written by people based on their memory of the teachings of Prophet Jesus. The teachings of Prophet Jesus are what we understand to be the "injeel".
Injeel refers to the revelations made to Prophet Jesus (Isa) by Allah. The New Testament that we have today is not the original, exact and complete Injeel, but rather contains portions of it as it 'according to' the memory of Mark, Mathew, Luke, John, Barnabas, and so on. They do contain the teachings of Jesus, but as it is based on the memory of the scribes who compiled it, it obviously contains may errors, omissions, lapses, contradictions, etc which are but human errors. Same is with the Torah, and other sacred texts. The reason why The Holy Quran did not suffer such a fate is because it was memorized by multiple people, word by word, right from the days of Prophet Muhammad upto this day. That is why the message has stayed intact. I do not know if any copy of the original injeel, torah, or any other book has survived to this day.
Hadith is a different story. Hadith books were compiled approximately 300 years after the death of Prophet Muhammad. They are based on the memory of the people that these scribes went to in search of the sayings of the Prophet, which in turn, is based on the memory of those from whom they heard it, and so on. Hence, there are many mistakes and contradictions in this body of work, and as such, this 'writing of men' cannot be taken as anyauthority. We can study it as historical documents, but we need to be careful to always check if a hadith is compatible with what Allah says in the Quran, otherwise it is not acceptable, as Prophet Muhammad lived his life totally in accordance with the injunctions of the Holy Quran, and we cannot imagine him doing or saying anything contradictory to the Quran. I would sincerely advice you to first study the Quran on its own, and then, after you've completed reading it, to branch out into studying the Hadith, Sunnah, historical books, and other sources. The Holy Quran(in Arabic) is the only document that we can vouch for as being authentically from Allah Almighty himself. Best is to study it in Arabic so as to be able to grasp the depth of meaning of each word, but if that is not possible, the next best thing is to comparatively study translations by different people to understand the closest meanings to the original message.
May Allah bless you and guide you, and may you find the true path. Amen.

Creation of Adam

In the Holy Quran, regarding the creation of Adam, Allah tells us that:
30 And when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to place a viceroy in the earth, they said: Wilt thou place therein one who will do harm therein and will shed blood, while we, we hymn Thy praise and sanctify Thee? He said: Surely I know that which ye know not.
31 And He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels, saying: Inform Me of the names of these, if ye are truthful.
32 They said: Be glorified! We have no knowledge saving that which Thou hast taught us. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower, the Wise.
33 He said: O Adam! Inform them of their names, and when he had informed them of their names, He said: Did I not tell you that I know the secret of the heavens and the earth? And I know that which ye disclose and which ye hide.
34 And when We said unto the angels: Prostrate yourselves before Adam, they fell prostrate, all save Iblis. He demurred through pride, and so became a disbeliever.
35 And We said: O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and eat ye freely (of the fruits) thereof where ye will; but come not nigh this tree lest ye become wrong-doers.
36 But Satan caused them to deflect therefrom and expelled them from the (happy) state in which they were; and We said: Fall down, one of you a foe unto the other! There shall be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a time.
37 Then Adam received from his Lord words (of revelation), and He relented toward him. Lo! He is the relenting, the Merciful.
38 We said: Go down, all of you, from hence; but verily there cometh unto you from Me a guidance; and whoso followeth My guidance, there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.
39 But they who disbelieve, and deny Our revelations, such are rightful Peoples of the Fire. They will abide therein.

Notice that the angels already had an idea of what man was capable of, that is, fighting, shedding blood.

Title :Holy Torah, Holy Quran, Adam - Conclusive verses

With the name of Allah, The Compassionate, The Merciful. If Allah wills. What Allah wills. Peace be upon all the Holy Prophets.
Holy Torah, Holy Quran, Adam - Conclusive verses Adam, not first man, but, last man made directly from clay
There is not a single verse in the Holy Quran which says that Adam was the first man. It is because he was given the name Adam and made from clay without the involvement of father and mother, so somebody thought that he was the first man. This wrong concept is spread throughout the world, and all the three Jews, Christians, and Muslims have the same faith that Adam was the first man made out of clay/soil. The truth is that Adam was not the first man but the last man made out of clay.
From the Torah Allah proved through me that Adam was not the first man(The name of the article is, "Why I love the Holy Bible?"). The point is so conclusive that I announce a sweet and loving gift of Rs. 3 million to any Muslim, Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist or Parsi, etc who can prove me wrong in any High court or Supreme court of the world.
Now, Allah has given me the following conclusive verses from the Holy Quran also proving that Adam was not the first man. Please see the following two verses: Chapter 15 Verse no. 26: "We have created human being (Nas), from ringing clay of loam moulded" Chapter 15 Verse no. 28: "And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: Verily, I am about to create a man (Bashr viz, Adam) from ringing clay of loam moulded"
Observation In verse 26, Allah says "We" and in verse 28, Allah says "I". "We," is used when Allah has engaged His angels and other beings in the job. "I" is used when Allah speaks only of Himself
In the Torah also, speaking about human beings before Adam, God uses the word "We," and says, "Now, We will make human beings" (Genesis 1, verse 26) Again, in the Torah, speaking about creation of Adam, not "We," but "He" (equivalent of "I") is used. "Then the Lord God took some soil from the ground and formed a man out of it;he breathed life-giving breath into his nostrils and the man began to live." (Genesis 2, verse 7)
Insaan In the verse 26, above, Allah through His angels, etc, created human beings (Insaan) from clay.
Bashr In the verse 28, above, Allah created with both His hands directly Bashr (namely, Adam). In chapter 38, verse 75, Allah said "O, Iblis! What prevented thee from prostrating thyself before that which I had created with both My hands?"
Observation So the creation of "Insaan" in verse 26 is different from the creation of "Bashr" in verse 28. "Insaan" was created indirectly by God. Adam was created directly by God. "Insaan" (human beings) were existing when Adam was created. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 3 Verse 59: "Verily the likeness of Isa, with Allah is as the likeness of Adam; him He created out of dust, thereafter He said unto him: Be, and lo!he becometh"
Observation Just as Isa was created away from the normal process when other human beings were being born, so Adam was created away from the normal process when other human beings were being born. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 3, verse 34: "Allah chose Adam, and Nuh, and the house of Ibrahim, and the house of Imran out of the worlds"
Observation Adam was chosen out of the worlds. So, Adam was never alone in the world. He was alone with his wife only in the Garden. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 38 verse 26: "O, Daud! Verily We have appointed thee a vicegerent (Khalifa) in the Earth, so judge between mankind with truth"
Chapter 2 Verse 30: "And what time thine Lord said unto the angels: Verily I am going to place a vicegerent (Khalifa, viz Adam) on the Earth"
Observation From verse 38/26, the one job of Daud as the Khalifa was to judge between mankind with truth. So, Adam as Khalifa was also supposed to judge between mankind with truth. If there were no mankind on Earth, how could Adam act as the Khalifa? Therefore, there were men existing when Adam was sent as the Khalifa. So, Adam was not the first man. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Title :Has there not been over man a period of time when he was nothing to be mentioned

Has there not been over man a period of time when he was nothing to be mentioned
On 25th Dec. 2006 I wrote an article "Why I Love The Holy Bible" in which with the help of Torah it was proved (like 1 plus 1 is equal to 2) that Hazrat Adam (ph) was not the first human being and Eve was not the first woman.
Conclusive Proof from Holy Quran
By the Grace of ALLAH on 11-2-2007 Sunday I got the conclusive proof from the Holy Quran ALSO that human beings existed before Hazrat Adam (ph)
And surely We created you (PLURAL) and then gave you (PLURAL) shape, THEN We told the angels , "Prostrate to Adam".......... (Surah 7 Al-Araf verse 11)
The verse clearly says that PLURAL numbers of human beings were created first and after creating them the angels were told to prostrate to Adam.
I was so happy on discovering it that I simply could not be more happy.
The people created before Hazrat Adam (ph) were not worth to be mentioned, therefore no name has been mentioned. Please read the following verse in light of Sura 7 verse 11 mentioned above:-
"Has there not been over man a period of time when he was nothing to be mentioned" (Sura Ad-Dahr 76 verse 1)
The verse 76:1 has been shown by my friends Ali Raza Jaffery and Hanif Motiwala. I am grateful to them.
